Maximalism is an aesthetic of excess and redundancy. Unpleasant.
In an environment where resources are infinitely available, what else would a maximalist do but waste? As if waste is a luxury to be enjoyed.
Appalling in nature, maximalism struggles to find conformity or adherence to boundaries or standards.
Could you take a look at this umbrella stand? What is it saying?
I’m struggling with it as well. Maximalists take the object and magnify every element of it, and they believe the truth belongs at the end of their magnification.
What do you think a maximalist would say about people?
Given their perspective is so distorted.
It’s here in the art; you can see it with your own eyes. What is there?
Too much of everything.
Control is the enemy of the maximalist. They lack order, and there needs to be clarity for the maximalist, yet there is none.
Maximum: as great, high, or intense as possible or permitted.
"the vehicle's maximum speed"
Why is the maximalist preoccupied with the maximum? I can only assume they are intoxicated with extremes.
All I see is desperation for recognition.
What does the repetition prove?
Maximalism is an obstruction to the truth. It’s a medium that embraces heterogeneity and allows for complex systems of juxtapositions and collisions. Meanwhile, the maximalist will say the resources are available for these collisions, and we should use all of them.
