I have been peripherally paying attention to this story after becoming infatuated with SPACs earlier this year. That interest has wained - at least from a personal financial perspective but this story is shaping up quite interestingly. Building a new social media to fund an election(s), not merely with dollars but ideology and obedience that comes along with a social media - thats very interesting.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to make that claim right now but highly plausible.

The NYTs recently had an article coving this very same thing, all though pointing out the usually Trumpian shenanigans. Perhaps a conversation with those folks could be useful and interesting...

I think it might be a stretch to some degree as well but we will see. February is right around the corner. I'm less interested in the SEC violation that NYT is covering in that article. I thought about that early on before the SEC stepped in because the order of operations looked off and they formed the SPAC while also saying they had an acquisition target ready to go which is uncommon.

Loving this fresh perspective. This is the first time anything political has ever truly kept my interest. Thanks for making it clear and intriguing. Are u going to be revealing your sources and how you come to your theories in the future?

I'm glad it was listenable and caught your attention. Yes, I'll start to map out my sources more clearly and see if I can put a few frameworks that are easy to understand behind how I'm doing my analysis.

Chris, you hit the nail on the head. You and I both know that the sole purpose of this SPAC is for Trump to develop a war chest for the inevitable 2024 presidential campaign. Trump has not been shy about wanting to run in 2024, and I would be surprised if he chose not to run. Democrats thought they buried Trump by denying him a 2nd term. They thought he was buried for good when Twitter decided to ban him for life, his favorite form of communication. Here we are nearly a year later and it appears that Trump is stronger than ever and continues to have a very tight grip on the GOP. Taking him out of the every day public eye of office, as well as him not being able to communicate to the outside world through social media has made people start to forget the outlandish things that he would say while in office the further that we get away from his time in office. This is only helping his 2024 chances as he is not able to embarrass himself on Twitter anymore. It doesn’t help that the current administration is widely unpopular as well.

To add on to what you're saying - I don't want to see him run. I think the Republican Party will be doomed with the current type of "conservatives" at the forefront of the GOP and then you add Trump into the mix and it is toxic. I think it's time for the Republican Party to realign. I can't see it any other way.

I would agree with that. Republicans are scared of trying to move away from Trump because it will tear the party right down the middle and and the Democrats will coast. Riding with him for the short term may give the GOP false strength/hope, but it will have detrimental effects long term to the party. The more that the GOP gives into Trump, the further the party will sink and he’ll have that much tighter of a grip as the ship goes down. It is very unprecedented.

What a conundrum. In the least, I feel the GOP is out of step and needs an update.
